Clever Markets is a young startup for energy professionals who want to build stuff that matters. We are hiring a mid-level quantitative energy analyst with experience in technical analysis.
Clever Markets helps institutional energy trading desks with embedding a reliable pre-trade decision-making process. Our clients are both, speculative traders as well as hedgers.
We teach our robust in-house methodology and provide the proprietary tools to help energy trading teams with making consistent, repeatable decisions.
We started out as the underdog in 2023 and are now helping some of the world’s largest energy trading firms with structured systems that drive real trading outcomes.
Must have:
- 3-5 years of quantitative experience in the energy industry
- Quantitative background: statistics, mathematics, economics, computer science, or equivalent STEM degree
- Strong programming skills in Python, C++, or C# (Python programming is preferable)
- CMT, CFTe, STA diploma or equivalent experience
- Experience building and maintaining quantitative algo signal dashboards
- High ownership mindset
- Comfortable working with real commercial pressure
Good to have:
- AWS services and databases
- Familiarity with signal generation and statistical models
- Familiarity with AI agents and AI workflow
- You must be comfortable explaining quantitative logic to traders under scrutiny
Working hours:
- Analytical shift starts 6:30am SGT / 12:30am CEST and ends 10:30am SGT / 4:30am CEST, Monday to Friday.
- Other responsibilities such as quantitative development work is operating on a self-directed flexible schedule.
- Write daily actionable technical analysis reports for the European energy markets in alignment with our methodology.
- Turn your analysis into engaging, bite-sized content to be published in newsletters, LinkedIn posts, webinar slides and blogs.
- Design, test, and deploy proprietary models, dashboards and automations to generate tradable edge for European energy curve spreads and prompt products.
- Present technical analysis concepts during live tutorials with clients. This responsibility of increasingly client-facing work will develop at a later point, once daily report writing and model development are stabilised.
