NetApp, Inc. engages in design, manufacture, and marketing of networked storage solutions. The company supplies enterprise storage and data management software and hardware products and services. It offers FAS Storage Platform based on Data ONTAP, an operating system (OS) that supports storage area network (SAN) and network-attached storage (NAS) environments; storage efficiency technologies, such as FlexVol, FlexClone, and Deduplication technologies; and storage management and application integration software comprising OnCommand management software that controls, automates, and analyzes shared storage infrastructures.

The company also offers fabric-attached storage unified storage systems for the storage of data on various OS platforms and network infrastructures; V-Series network-based virtualization solutions that provide SAN and NAS access to the data stored in heterogeneous storage arrays; data protection software products; data retention and archive products; storage security products; and StorageGRID, an object storage software to manage petabyte-scale object-oriented repositories of images, video, and records for enterprises and service providers. In addition, it offers and E-Series systems for data storage.

Further, the company provides professional services, technical support solutions, and customer education and training to help customers in managing their data. It sells its products to energy, financial services, government, high technology, Internet, life sciences and healthcare services, manufacturing, media, entertainment, animation and video postproduction, and telecommunications sectors in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Asia Pacific. The company was founded in 1992 and is headquartered in Sunnyvale, California.

  4. Default

I beg to differ, NetApp can still drop further. While it is at the lowest point in 30 days, it remains above the 52-week low. Check out the analysis of this stock here: NetApp stock

  5. Default

NetApp has posted latest earnings that are disappointing. Although the company posted bottom line numbers that are above estimates, revenue disappointed. The better-than-expected EPS was achieved through higher profit margins via cost cutting. As margin expansion cannot continue for a long time, the fact that revenue declined was worrisome.

  6. Default

Revenue came in below expectations because the company's OEM business dropped by 30%. The OEM business accounts for the majority of its revenue compared to branded revenue. Other vendors like IBM are dropping NetApp's hardware solutions. Going forward, the company expects its branded revenues to grow at mid-single-digit percentages over the next few quarters, while the OEM products are likely to continue decline at similar rates. As a result, overall product sales could be annually down by 4-5% in fiscal 2015.
